How children with SEN engage in all activities?

We enable all children to engage fully in all aspects of school life. To do this, we:

  • Ensure that all children with SEN are fully included in all activities of the school in order to promote the highest levels of achievement.
  • Ensure that all children have access to the school curriculum and all school activities. We are prepared to seek advice, resources, equipment and we continually invest in training when needed in order to provide quality-learning experiences for all of our children.
  • Ensure every child has the entitlement to a sense of achievement. We celebrate achievements throughout school, such as our weekly celebration assembly where academic and non-academic progress is celebrated. We also employ a reward system that encourages children to be kind, caring and considerate towards others, earning children Privilege Time which enables them to participate in a range of activities including additional OPAL play, sewing, chess and dodgeball, to name but a few.
  • Plan activities such as visits and trips, with consideration for children with SEND so that they can fully participate.
