Tanfield Lea Community Primary School
Transition from Reception to Year 1
As part of our transition arrangements all of our children move to their new class for a lesson leading up to the end of term. This year we are going to do an additional afternoon. All children will spend this time in their new class. Arrangements are slightly different for our Reception children; as well as the children moving we are going to invite our Reception parents to move with the children, meet their new teacher and learn more about what learning is like in Y1. I hope you will be able to join your child for this. It will be on Wednesday 9th July from 1 p.m. Please make a note of the date
Years 5 & 6 will have the opportunity to take part in Bikeability in the summer term. All they will need is a roadworthy bike and a helmet. If you've not got a helmet for your child then it would be good to get organised before the training starts in June.
Non-School Uniform Days
Following our Parent Questionnaire it was suggested that we change the non-school uniform day from a Thursday to a Friday. We have considered this and have decided to change the day this term. If all works smoothly then we'll continue this in the new academic year. Thanks for the suggestion!
